So what is the therapy process like anyway?
I first take time to assess with you what is happening in your life that is making you feel “stuck”, what is causing any acute pain or hurt, or what struggles you are facing in order to create therapy goals that you wish to accomplish. Then we work together to bring awareness to the beliefs you have about yourself and coping skills your brain has created in order to protect you. Maybe these beliefs and behaviors that once protected, no longer serve you. You may have learned these beliefs from societal expectations, familial expectations, past traumas, experiences of oppression, or from yourself as a means to survival. We work together to process these traumas and experiences to uncover the things that seem to be holding you back from being your true authentic self and living a life of joy and peace.
